Xudong Fan is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Group of Complex Infrastructure Systems (CIS). Before joining CIS, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher and NSF-funded research intern at Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Water Department. Xudong received his Ph.D. degree in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Case Western Reserve University. He also earned his bachelor's degree from Central South University, China, and his master's degree from Tianjin University, China.

Xudong's research focuses on advanced artificial intelligence, machine learning, and their applications in critical infrastructure systems. In addition, Xudong enjoys hiking and landscape photography.
