About
Bio/Description

Dr. LaRock is a postdoctoral research associate in the Complex Infrastructure Systems group working on fundamental questions in network science related to spatially embedded networks and higher-order network models, with applications to infrastructure systems such as railway networks and energy grids. Before joining CIS, he worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Oxford Mathematical Institute with Professor Renaud Lambiotte developing methods for modeling multi-way and group interaction networks. In 2022 he earned his PhD in Network Science from the Northeastern University Network Science Institute under the supervision of Professor Tina Eliassi-Rad, specializing in the analysis of higher-order sequential correlations in network data. He holds a BS in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics with a minor in Philosophy from the State University of New York at Albany, where he conducted research on load balancing in cellular networks and unsupervised transmitter detection in wireless frequency spectrum data under the supervision of Professor Petko Bogdanov and Professor Mariya Zheleva.
