Registrar description

This course bridges civil structural dynamics and mechanical vibrations around a single core workflow: modeling system vibrations, measuring real movement, and reconciling the two. Students learn to derive equations of motion and analyze free and forced vibrations across single-degree-of-freedom, multi-degree-of-freedom, and continuous systems. Topics include sensor selection, signal acquisition, and time- and frequency-domain modal parameter extraction. The course closes with state-space modeling and Kalman filtering.
