Registrar description

Aquatic ecosystems depend on the physical, hydrological, and ecological processes that shape river habitats. This course introduces students to quantitative aquatic habitat modeling, linking river hydraulics, sediment transport, water temperature, food availability, flow regimes, and ecological response. Through hands-on computational modeling, field-inspired exercises, and interdisciplinary case studies, students learn how to analyze and predict habitat quality under natural and human-altered conditions.
